Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Bonus Overages, Lucic Looms, Linden Vey's Father Guilty The Canucks will carry over $315,000 in bonus payments against the 2016-17 salary cap, Milan Lucic inches ever-closer to becoming an unrestricted free agent and Linden Vey's father is found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

Thank you Miss C.

I hope Canucks don't get caught in a bidding war. We will need to give Bo and Gudbrandson hefty raises next year . One or two trades can end the UFA debate

To me the trade route is better than overpaying UFA's as you said Vantel. Younger, faster, stronger.

Since NJ isnt going to sign Ryan Rehill can we please send them Carolina's 7th and get this guy to Utica? I've watched him play in the 'dub and he plays quite similar to Bieksa. He goes back in the draft if he doesn't have a contract by then...

watched the JB interview again after, what caught me was the 6, 7, 8 guys that they are considering with the 5th pick... which means to me there are about 3 players beyond the top 3, Dubois and Tkachuk that he is considering... and we heard there was a dman in there somewhere.

Wondering how many people are going to lose it on draft day?

I believe the deadline already passed for that. AZ let one of the pieces for Boedker go back in the draft last week

it was only a matter of time...you're either excited about playing for a Canadian city/hockey market/good fan base/original 6 team, or you're looking forward to anonymity, sunshine and focusing on playing hockey.

This overage bothers me and I am surprised no one else has mentioned it yet. Seems pretty amateurish to me and a low level firing is not a bad solution to it.

This one was a cool one. Around the 6 minute mark it gives insight about their intent on Drafting and Development

Definitely a good find, thanks

Again, I like how candid he is. Any other GM in the past would've shot down Shannon's comments on who they were looking at for 5th overall, but he didnt bother denying Tkachuk and Dubois were there and the few D he liked

He also really elaborated on the expectations he had with the couple kids he was targeting with the 2nd rounder: 2 more years of Jr, 2 years AHL, then start getting some NHL experience and wont see them helping the club for 5-7 years.

Yeah he was very candid about the second round pick. I think the four players he has in mind is Dubois Tkachuk Sergachev and Brown

I know you guys hate offer sheets but Canucks should target Dumba at 3.6 mil for five years. It would cost a second round pick.

Minny is so cash strapped. They have 5 NMCs and one NTC. They have about 7 mil in space and 8 players to sign. They can't afford to sign Dumba.

I dont hate offer sheets, I just think they need to be reasonable and realistic. I think given Dumba's age and progression to date that this has some possibility of being signed (and worth the 2nd rounder), I just have a hard time buying that Minn wouldnt do what they could to make that contract work through cap dump trades and buyouts.

CBJ and Minn are two teams with cap problems that are prime for targeting, VAN should be going after them both

No thanks I see how the other GM's have blackballed Kevin Lowe and I don't think we need that stigma.

No one has blackballed Kevin Lowe. When there are only 29 other teams you don't have the luxury of black balling.

Agreed, that was a Lowe-Burke issue. Sweeney was being threatened with offer sheets before trading Hamilton to Calgary, I dont see it blackballing any other trades. Even Sweeney flipping Jones to LA's California rivals doesnt seem to have created any bad blood there either. The Cap squeeze and future expansion will bring a lot of interesting movement I think and teams position themselves

The thing with this one it is a big juicy fastball right down the center of plate. Some GM is going to swoop in with a 3.6 offer. Minny have no wiggle room. All their top salaries have NMC. The only tradable one is Spurgeon and his salary jumps to 5.75 next year. They have painted themselves in a corner.
